How much alcohol is “allowed” after training?
In general, alcohol, which is taken directly after the training, strongly limits the effect of the training unit. Even though the amount of alcohol certainly has an influence on its harmful effect, even with small amounts the body changes its metabolism and changes the hormone release to the disadvantage of the actually desired training effect. A non-alcoholic beer after training, on the other hand, supplies the body with important nutrients and electrolytes and has no harmful effects.
Basically, it is said that a healthy, harmless consumption of alcohol corresponds to about 12g alcohol (0.1 L wine) for a woman and 24g alcohol per day for a man. Even if this consumption should not have a harmful effect on health, it will still hinder the training effect of the strength athlete enormously.
