Instructions for use
The Nasic® dosing spray is directly ready for use. Remove the protective cap from the spray device and insert it into the desired nostril. Use your index and ring finger to apply a spray.
For hygienic reasons, the inserted end should be wiped after use. If you forget to take Nasic®, do not take a double dose, but continue the treatment as usual. Nasic® should be stored protected from light and moisture at room temperature in the original bottle.
Do not use it after the expiry date printed on the package has been reached. In general, Nasic® Nasal Spray should be kept out of the reach of children. Nasic® can lead to a local dependence of their nasal mucous membrane: Long-term use dries out the nasal mucosa.
An abrupt discontinuation of Nasic® or a diminishing drug effect can lead to the so-called rebound effect: An increased swelling of the nasal mucosa with increased mucus formation are the result. This results in a vicious circle which can only be broken by the renewed application of the decongestant nasal spray. Therefore, make sure that you take it for a limited period of one week and do not use Nasic® in any other way than prescribed by your doctor or pharmacist!
Durability
According to the manufacturer’s specifications, Nasic® Nasal Spray can be used for up to twelve weeks after opening and should be disposed of afterwards. It should be noted, however, that continuous use should only be for a maximum of one week. If a nasal spray is used that has already been open for more than twelve weeks, this does not mean that there is any danger or that it no longer has any effect.
Nevertheless, this should be avoided, especially if it is not clear when the medication was started or if the bottle is dirty. Nasic® is also labelled with an expiry date like almost every other drug. This should be found on the bottle. When it has expired, the medicine should no longer be used and should be disposed of as soon as possible. Normally, Nasic® has a shelf life of about three years as long as it has not been opened.
