In orthodox medicine the liverwort plays no role. Folk medicine uses the liverwort for liver and gall bladder complaints.

Liverflower Tea: Take 2 teaspoons of dried herb from the liverflower and pour a large cup of cold water over it. The whole thing is left overnight, then strained and slightly warmed up for drinking. It is drunk unsweetened and sipped throughout the day. As long as dried cabbage from the liverwort is used, none is to be expected.
