Endurance strength is defined as the ability to maintain endurance performance with increased muscular effort over a longer period of time. In the foreground, however, is the endurance (cyclist) speed strength as the ability to develop a force impulse as quickly and effectively as possible after a signal (100m sprint). (Explosive power and starting power) Endurance means to increase the power as long as possible.
This can be seen in good sprinters. While inexperienced athletes accelerate up to about 30 meters after the start, professional sprinters achieve acceleration values up to about 60-70 meters after the start. Speed endurance means to maintain the resulting power as long as possible. Professional sprinters can maintain the maximum speed for about 20 meters.
Condition and doping – What is the connection?
Wherever competitive sports are being played, the subject of doping is not far away. Unfortunately, there are now doping substances available for almost every sport in order to optimize performance in competition for your own benefit. Connections can also be drawn to doping on the subject of fitness.
Since endurance is made up of four abilities (strength, speed, endurance and mobility), there are more and more points of attack for doping substances. Above all, the endurance ability can be a topic for targeted doping. Doping substances that could be considered here are for example: EPO, blood doping and anabolic steroids.
Stimulants such as cocaine or amphetamines are also used to improve physical condition. In the meantime, more and more new doping substances are being developed and gene doping is also becoming more and more interesting. Amateurs tend not to dope, competitive athletes tend to dope often.
