Pregnancy and lactation
During pregnancy the use of eye drops and nose drops containing tetryzolin is not recommended. This is due to the mainly systemic side effects, such as cardiac arrhythmia and hypertension crises, which can occur when taking the drug. The same also applies to breastfeeding.
If a pregnant woman should suffer from conjunctivitis, antibiotic eye drops should be taken after consulting a doctor. These have not only been better researched during pregnancy but also have fewer side effects.
