Price of Locastad
Locastad® is available in pharmacies without prescription. There are currently two different flavours on the market: orange, honey/lemon. A pack of 24 lozenges is available for a price between 5 and 10€.
Locastad® during pregnancy
The safety of Locastad® during pregnancy and lactation has not been proven. Lidocaine can both pass through the placenta and accumulate in small doses in breast milk. However, the data collected in recent years on the local application of Locastad® during pregnancy and lactation do not indicate an increased risk of congenital malformations or developmental disorders in the newborn.
Due to lack of experience, use during pregnancy should not be recommended. When using the product during the breastfeeding period, the benefits of breastfeeding for the infant and the benefits of the therapy for the woman should be weighed up with the treating physician.
