Beside many foods, L-Arginine can of course also be supplemented directly. For this purpose, there are various forms of administration of the amino acid such as powder and capsules. The powder is easy to dose and can be stirred into drinks and food.

There are two different types of powder. L-Arginine Base Powder consists of 100% L-Arginine, but has a strong bitter to fishy taste. L-Arginine HCL Powder on the other hand consists of 75% L-Arginine.

With the addition of hydrochloride, the taste is neutralized, so that children can take the powder without any problems. The disadvantage is that HCL is not well tolerated by the body in large quantities. In capsule form, the dose is already given, capsules are easy to handle and can be taken comfortably on the road.

The taste of the capsules is no problem due to the fact that they dissolve in the stomach. For people with swallowing difficulties and small children, however, they are rather unsuitable. Because the capsules are easier to handle, they are often much more expensive than the L-Arginine powder.
