Prognosis | Fecal incontinence

Prognosis

The prognosis of fecal incontinence varies considerably from patient to patient. Both the cause and the age of the affected patient play a decisive role in the chances of correcting the incontinence. In most cases, however, the quality of life of the affected person can be at least significantly improved by suitable therapeutic measures. Nevertheless, complete continence (stool control) cannot be restored in every patient.
