Prophylaxis

If a child suffers from diaper sores, it is better not to take him/her to the daycare center for the time being, as this is a contagious fungal infection. Extensive hygiene and frequent changing and cleaning of the diaper are important for the correct therapy of diaper sores in order to keep the skin dry. In the day care center, this cannot always be guaranteed due to the frequent lack of personnel and time.

In addition, the ointments that have to be applied after each diaper change are part of the medication and must not be administered by the daycare staff. When the symptoms have subsided and the ointments prescribed by the doctor no longer need to be applied, the child can be taken back to the daycare center.
