Psyche – Nervous System (F00-F99; G00-G99).
- Autoimmune encephalitis – encephalitis (inflammation of the brain) triggered by immunoglobulin class G (IgG) antibodies against the body’s own tissues; immunoglobulins against NMDA receptors and so-called leucine-rich glioma inactivated protein 1 (LGI1) have been identified as the most common triggers of antibody-mediated encephalitis; the different triggers lead to different clinical pictures:
- Anti-NMDA receptor encephalitis: epilepsies (seizures), psychotic behavior, movement disorders, and possibly autonomic nervous system disorders requiring intensive care.
- Limbic encephalitis with LGI1 antibodies: epilepsies and memory disorders.
- Drug abuse
- Brain organic disorders, unspecified, as occurring in brain tumors, inflammation.
- Psychotic disorders such as schizotypal disorders or schizoaffective disorders.
Medications
- Beta-blockers – medication for hypertension (high blood pressure).
- Clonidine – medication against hypertension (high blood pressure).
- Cycloserine – antibiotic (drug against bacterial infections).
- Procaine derivatives – derivatives of a local anesthetic (agent for regional anesthesia).
Further
- 24-hour sleep deprivation can lead to conditions similar to schizophrenia in healthy people
