Obligatory medical device diagnostics.
- Transrectal prostate sonography (ultrasound examination of the prostate).
- Electrical impedance analysis (measurement of body compartments/body composition) – for determination of body fat, extracellular body mass (blood and tissue fluid), body cell mass (muscle and organ mass) and total body water incl. body mass index (BMI, body mass index) and waist-to-hip ratio (THV); if necessary, as part of an anti-aging check.
Optional medical device diagnostics – depending on the results of the history, physical examination, laboratory diagnostics and obligatory medical device diagnostics – for differential diagnostic clarification.
- Exercise ECG (electrocardiogram during exercise, that is, under physical activity/exercise ergometry).
- Sonography of the carotids (ultrasound examination of the carotid artery).
- Gastroscopy (gastroscopy) and colonoscopy (colonoscopy).
- Uroflowmetry (urine flow measurement) – measurement of urine flow in suspected obstructive bladder emptying disorder.
- Abdominal sonography (ultrasound examination of the abdominal organs) – for general cancer screening.
- Osteodensitometry (bone density measurement).
Caution. In cases of pathologic pituitary function tests or marked progressive symptoms, respectively, pituitary examination should be performed using computed tomography (cCT; cranial CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (cMRI; cranial MRI) to exclude a pituitary adenoma or tumor.
