Summary | Exercises for inguinal hernia

Summary

An inguinal hernia is a bulging of the peritoneum through a hernia sac in the groin region. Men are more frequently affected by this disease than women. Since parts of the intestine can protrude into the hernia sac, which is a life-threatening complication, surgery is almost always recommended.

In this case, the hernial sac is moved back and the exit site is closed with a plastic net or suture. After about 6 weeks after the operation, sports activities can be carried out as usual. Nevertheless, no heavy loads should be lifted 3-6 months after the operation.
