Summary

The oral cavity, which is divided into two areas, is used to crush and prepare food for the stomach. For this reason, the tongue and teeth, as well as the saliva produced, are found in the oral cavity and prepare the food for further transport. The oral cavity is bounded by various structures, such as lips, cheeks and throat. It is sensitively and motorically innervated by various branches of the trigeminal nerve and the facial nerve.
