Medical history (history of illness) is an important component in the diagnosis of endometritis (inflammation of the uterus/muscular layer of the uterus).
Current anamnesis/systemic anamnesis (somatic and psychological complaints).
- Is the period regular? Pre-lubrication? Relubrication?
- Does bleeding occur between periods? When?
- Do they have lower abdominal pain (cramping, constant pain, strain-related, digestion-related?).
- Burning when urinating? Diarrhea? Constipation?
- Pain and bleeding during or after intercourse?
- Do they have discharge? Color? Odor (e.g., fishy?), does it increase after intercourse?
- Intense, frequent sexual intercourse? Special sexual practices?
- Is there evidence of hypothermia?
Self-history
- Past medical history: Condition following adnexitis, endometritis, pelveoperitonitis, pyelonephritis, cystitis.
- Surgeries: Condition after curettage, hysteroscopy or other operations on the uterus and adnexa or lower abdomen.
- Pregnancies: Condition after miscarriage, abruptio, premature birth, sectio, endometritis post partum.
