Aftercare after a tattoo removal
The removal of tattoos is very demanding on the skin. It can lead to undesirable side effects, such as an infection of the affected area. This heals then in the worst case under scarring and the skin is disfigured.
To prevent this, cooperation is required. After a session, the skin may be red and swollen, which is normal. In this case the affected areas can be cooled.
It is also normal for scabs or a real crust to form. These should not be scraped off, as this is how germs penetrate the wound and an inflammation develops. Scars can then appear during the healing process.
One should simply wait until the skin comes off by itself. Daily showers are allowed, whereas visits to the solarium, swimming pool or sauna should be avoided at first. If the skin is exposed to the sun, a sun cream with a high sun protection factor is recommended. To support the skin in healing, a wound protection cream can also be applied. Fresh air is good for the skin, so bandages or plasters should be avoided.
Costs of tattoo removal
If you want to have a tattoo removed, the upcoming costs of the treatment also play an important role. It is important to know that due to the different methods that are available to remove a tattoo, different high costs can arise. Basically, there are two different methods of tattoo removal.
A tattoo can be removed either by a surgical intervention or by laser radiation. Not only in the costs, these two methods differ, but both methods offer different advantages and disadvantages, which must be considered when removing a tattoo. In the surgical removal of a tattoo the complete tattoo is cut out.
However, this method is only possible for small tattoos, because otherwise the skin defect would be too large to sew it properly. When removing a tattoo surgically, the cost can vary greatly, depending on the size and location of the tattoo. For a palm-sized tattoo, you should allow for costs of about 1500-3000 euros for surgical removal.
In addition to these costs, the cost of the required anesthesia is added to the patient. Depending on whether you choose a kind of twilight sleep or general anesthesia, there are additional costs of about 300-800 euros. The cheaper option is removal by laser radiation.
Here, each session costs about 50-250 Euro. Here the prices vary greatly from practice to practice. For small tattoos at least three to five sessions should be scheduled, for larger tattoos, however, eight to twelve sessions should be scheduled. If the tattoos are stung by a professional, it may be possible to have more sessions, because the color may be in deeper layers of skin and it is harder to remove.If you have your tattoo removed, you have to consider that you have to pay for all the costs yourself, as these are normally not covered by health insurance.
