Aphthe: Examination

A comprehensive clinical examination is the basis for selecting further diagnostic steps:

  • General physical examination – including blood pressure, pulse, body weight, height; further:
    • Inspection (viewing):
      • Oral cavity [milky to yellowish spots on the oral mucosa surrounded by a red halo; they are usually roundish or oval and usually no larger than a lentil]
  • Health check
