Can it be dangerous to follow an HCG diet?

Due to the high dilution no effect of the hCG preparations can be scientifically proven. Side effects or even health risks are mainly due to the reduced energy intake in the diet. Side effects include reduced performance, weakness, fatigue, headaches or dizziness.

Some participants have to fight with circulatory problems, which can even lead to fainting fits. Furthermore, despite additional vitamin supplements, it is almost impossible to absorb all the important nutrients with such a reduced energy intake. In the context of the diet, healthy fats are missing above all, and the protein intake is also borderline low.

This can lead to deficiency symptoms. Due to the low level of sporting activity, more muscle mass is lost. A radical cure like the hCG diet should be closely monitored and should be stopped if necessary in case of physical deficiency symptoms.

Side effects of diet

Side effects caused by the globules or vital substances consumed during the diet have not been scientifically proven to date. Rather, many participants suffer from the change in diet and the extreme reduction of the supplied energy. Especially the withdrawal of carbohydrates is reflected in many people who want to lose weight in the beginning in partly serious side effects: they fight with tiredness, poor performance, moodiness, dizziness up to circulation problems or fainting fits.

The low energy intake can already limit the participants of the diet during everyday stress, even sporting activities are carried out with less energy and performance. Concentration difficulties can also occur temporarily. An extremely calorie-reduced diet should be accompanied by a doctor and strictly monitored to prevent a deficiency.

Headaches

Headaches are among the most common side effects of radical diets. They are mainly caused by the withdrawal of carbohydrates. Other nutrient deficiencies can also lead to headaches.

Often a too small drinking quantity is also a trigger for the complaints. The headaches usually subside after the first days of the dietary change. They also do not occur in all people. It is important to drink at least 2 to 3 liters of liquid in the form of water or unsweetened tea per day. If the pain is severe, painkillers can be used temporarily.
