A watery eye can be accompanied by various symptoms. This can take several days to weeks. In the case of a watery eye due to a foreign body, the removal of the foreign body can lead to an improvement after only a few minutes or hours. In the case of dry eyes, the symptoms can also be relieved after a short time with eye drops or other simple measures such as humidifiers. It is important for those affected to consult a doctor, especially if symptoms persist. This doctor can then perform a thorough examination of the eye and initiate the appropriate therapy.
