Fields of application | Homeopathy: What is it? Does it work?

Fields of application

The homeopathic pellets can now be found for just about every complaint, every ailment and every disease. Whether complaints of the musculoskeletal system such as swellings and strains, organ complaints such as nausea, abdominal pain, headaches or even psychological and chronic illnesses, according to alternative medicine, all these can be treated with homeopathy. All that is needed is to find the right remedy.

Homeopathic remedies do not require a prescription, so they can be easily bought in pharmacies and drugstores or ordered on the Internet. To find out what helps with which complaint there are whole books for consultation and education. Otherwise, a visit to a naturopath, homeopath or even an osteopath is recommended. These are all quite expensive therapists who have to be paid out of their own pockets. Some doctors also specialize in homeopathy and globules.

Effect

So the concept of homeopathy is now that similar things are cured by similar things. With every illness one has certain symptoms, i.e. complaints. The right globules are selected according to these symptoms, and the substances that cause these symptoms are administered.

However, these substances are diluted in the form of small globules to such an extent that they do not really cause these symptoms, but, it is explained, are perceived by the body and thus (should) cause a defensive or healing reaction. The substances are all natural. To be able to imagine this practically, a small example:

  • The coffee bean contains caffeine.

Caffeine has been proven to stimulate the circulation, increase the heart rate and thereby increase sweat production. Now our example patient is suffering from extreme stress and psychological upset. Stress causes similar symptoms in the body as too many cups of coffee: increased heart rate, sweating, heat. In the form of small pellets, extremely diluted amounts of caffeine are administered to the patient, which are not sufficient to cause the symptoms, but which, according to alternative medicine, stimulate the body to counteract the caffeine, i.e. in this case to relax, lower the heart rate and thus alleviate the stress reaction of our patient. This is the theory.
