Interactions

The following medications may interact with Belok Zok Mite® when used in combination with it:

  • Other antihypertensive drugs: The combination of Belok Zok Mite® (as well as all other beta-blockers) with other antihypertensive drugs (e.g. diuretics (water tablets), nitrates, calcium antagonists) can lead to an excessive lowering of blood pressure, so here the dosage should be carefully and controlled. – Drugs for the treatment of cardiac arrhythmia: A combination of Belok Zok Mite® with calcium channel blockers that also act on the heart (verapamil and diltiazem) is contraindicated due to the risk of cardiac arrhythmia (AV block). For this very reason, Belok Zok Mite® should also be combined carefully with other drugs for the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias (antiarrhythmics, e.g. amiodarone, sotalol).
  • Antidiabetics:When treating patients with diabetes, it should be noted that Belok Zok Mite® in combination with antidiabetics can increase the risk of hypoglycemia and mask the warning symptoms of hypoglycemia. – Bronchial asthma:Belok Zok Mite® must also be used with caution in patients with respiratory diseases treated with beta-2 mimetics for dilating the airways (bronchodilators). The reason is that beta-blockers – depending on the type – sometimes significantly weaken the effect of the drugs used to widen the airways, as they block the receptors to which these drugs are applied. – Antidepressants:A combination of Belok Zok Mite® with MAO inhibitors (treatment of depression) can lead to an excessive increase in blood pressure with blood pressure crises. – Before anaesthesia, it is essential to inform the doctor that treatment with Belok Zok Mite® is being administered, as there can be numerous interactions between beta blockers and narcotics and muscle relaxants.
