Physiotherapeutic measures
The physiotherapist can loosen the muscles of the foot by means of massage grips, which has an analgesic effect on the ball of the foot. Exercises are performed to build up and stabilize the arch of the foot. The arch of the foot is located on the sole of the foot and is there so that the strain on the whole body can be better absorbed. If there is a malpositioning of the foot (e.g. pointed foot), the ball of the foot is subject to increased stress. In addition to the strengthening exercises for the arch of the foot, coordination and balance exercises are added so that the foot can counteract various movements and strains when running.
Healing time
Depending on how long the pain has existed and how long the overload has taken place, the healing time can be extended. After application of appropriate measures, an improvement should occur after a few days. However, it can take up to several weeks until the healing process is complete.
How can the healing process be accelerated?
In order to support the healing of the soccer in case of overstrain, the blood circulation in the tissue should be promoted:
- This can be caused by massaging the ball of the foot.
- Warmth also stimulates blood circulation in the tissue. Warm baths, warming ointments or warmed cherry pit cushions thus have a blood circulation-promoting effect on the ball of the foot and support healing.
How can I relieve the pain?
Not only the healing time, but also the pain in general is minimized by increased blood circulation, which can be achieved by warming applications such as warm baths or warming ointments. Massages at the ball of the foot also have a healing accelerating effect as well as pain-relieving. Movement and relief of the ball of the foot also lead to pain relief. As a rule, such measures are sufficient. If the pain is too severe, pain-relieving medication can also be taken.
