Scenar Therapy

Scenar therapy (synonym: Self Controlled Energo Neuro Adaptive Regulation Therapy) is a therapeutic method of complementary medicine, which is based on influencing the human organism by means of individually dosed impulse release. As a result of this impulse release, an endogenous response in the form of nerve reaction is supposed to occur. Scenar therapy was developed as part of the Russian space program and was intended to enable cosmonauts to receive medical treatment even in the absence of medical care.

Indications (areas of application)

  • Treatments of the central and peripheral nervous system – in the presence of neuralgia (pain located in the area supplied by a nerve and caused by irritation or pathological process of the respective nerve). Scenar therapy should also be used in the occurrence of phantom limb pain, which describes a lack of sensation in the absence of limbs.
  • Treatments of the musculoskeletal system – if there are injuries or degenerative changes of the articular cartilage, Scenar therapy is a treatment option. Pain in the bony joint surfaces or ligaments and muscles can also be treated with Scenar therapy.
  • Treatments of the respiratory tract – in inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract, such as chronic bronchitis or bronchial asthma, there is the option of treatment with Scenar therapy. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is also one of the indications for Scenar therapy.
  • Treatments of the digestive tract – the symptoms or complaints of the digestive tract are not always clearly attributable to a disease. Nevertheless, the use of Scenar therapy can achieve symptom relief in many cases.
  • Treatments of the genitourinary tract – if there is an irritable bladder syndrome (synonyms: functional micturition disorder, bladder emptying disorder), Scenar therapy can be successfully used as a treatment measure.

Contraindications

Relative contraindications

  • Treatment of tumor diseases – if a patient has a tumor disease, it should be treated primarily with conventional medical procedures.
  • Treatment of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) – due to the risk of pulmonary embolism should not be treated with Scenar therapy alone.
  • Treatment of pregnant women – since an influence of the treatment on the unborn child cannot be excluded, treatment of a pregnant woman should be refrained from.
  • Treatment of mental illness – if a mental illness is present, the effect of Scenar therapy can not be guaranteed.

Absolute contraindications

  • Pacemakers and defibrillators – pacemakers and defibrillators can be disturbed by the electrical impulses, so that the function of the devices can not be ensured.

Before therapy

Before using Scenar therapy, a detailed medical history and physical examination should be performed. Nonspecific symptoms such as fever or night sweats should be clarified before starting therapy, as these may have a tumor disease as a cause.

The procedure

Scenar therapy is based on the principle of continuous biofeedback, so that pathological (diseased) processes can be combated by stimulating the Scenar. Scenar therapy thus represents a procedure that can be used to heal and alleviate many diseases and symptoms on the basis of self-regulation. On the basis of changes in skin resistance, pathological processes in the body can be inferred. Through the connection of the skin resistance to the internal milieu, influence can be exerted both on the vegetative nervous system and, through the stimulation of the body’s own regulatory processes, a strengthening of the immune system can be achieved. So far, however, it has not been possible to explain the mechanism of the influence of Scenar therapy on the body based on physical laws. One of the explanations for the energetic phenomena and the success of the treatment is the increased release of neuropeptides during Scenar therapy. In particular, studies from Russia indicate that Scenar therapy can release more than 2,000 different neuropeptides along the nerves and in various brain regions. In addition to the release of neuropeptides, there is a parallel stimulation and activation of different brain areas. In the evaluation of the results of treatment with Scenar therapy, patients also state that the tone (state of tension) of the muscles decreases, so that states of tension are relieved and associated pain such as tension headaches are reduced. In addition, a reduction in existing soft tissue swelling can be observed in many patients. The reduced soft tissue swelling could be due to an improved lymph flow, so that the lymph (lymph fluid) can be transported faster and more effectively. Furthermore, the improvement in lymph flow may also have an impact on the immune system, as this allows the innate immune system to act more quickly.

After therapy

No accompanying measures are necessary following the performance of the procedure.

Possible complications

Scenar therapy is a noninvasive therapeutic procedure that is not associated with any risk of complications when used correctly.
