Tumor diseases of the urinary tract organs

Almost all renal tumors are so-called renal cell carcinomas. These malignant tumors (malignancies) are relatively insensitive to chemotherapy and can take a very different course. Kidney cancer is usually a tumor of the elderly patient (usually between 60 and 80 years).

Smoking is the biggest risk factor for bladder cancer, but other chemicals can also be causative. Pain when urinating is a common symptom of bladder cancer, but it also occurs with cystitis. In the context of the tumor disease, however, weight loss can also occur. The prognosis depends on the extent of the tumor.

A sebaceous gland tumor is a rare tumor of the glands of the skin that produce sebum. The sebaceous glands in the area of the eye are particularly frequently affected.

The treatment of choice is surgical removal of the tumor followed by radiotherapy. A distinction is made between benign and malignant connective tissue tumors. Benign connective tissue tumors are called fibromas, while malignant connective tissue tumors are called fibrosarcomas.

Fibromas usually do not need to be treated, while fibrosarcomas must be surgically removed. A liposarcoma is a malignant tumor of fatty tissue. It most commonly occurs between the ages of 50 and 70.

The lower extremity is particularly frequently affected – here mainly the thigh. The therapy of choice is surgical removal of the tumor. If necessary, radiotherapy can be added.
