Infectious and parasitic diseases (A00-B99).
- HIV infection
- Toxic shock syndromes (toxic shock syndrome, TSS; synonym: tampon disease) – severe circulatory and organ failure caused by bacterial toxins (usually enterotoxin of the bacterium Staphylococcus aureus, less commonly streptococcus, then called streptococcal-induced toxic shock syndrome).
Pregnancy, childbirth, and puerperium (O00-O99).
- Abortion (miscarriage)
- Endometritis post partum – inflammation of the uterus after childbirth.
- Premature birth
- Infection after abortion
- Premature rupture of the membranes
- Premature labor
Genitourinary system (kidneys, urinary tract – reproductive organs) (N00-N99)
- Adnexitis – inflammation of the fallopian tubes and ovaries.
- Bleeding abnormalities
- Endometritis (inflammation of the uterus)
- Pyelonephritis (inflammation of the renal pelvis)
- Tuboovarian abscess – accumulation of pus in the fallopian tubes and ovaries.
- Urethritis (inflammation of the urethra)
- Cystitis (cystitis; inflammation of the urinary bladder).
