What are the potential consequential damages if you survive?
Depending on how badly the brain tissue has been affected by the cerebral hemorrhage, consequential damage of varying severity can result. Consequential damage is not necessarily present, but is very common, especially in the case of intracerebral hemorrhages. Complications can include epileptic seizures, which may persist.
Damage to important areas of the brain with the loss of certain abilities, such as speech or memory, is also possible. Paralysis and neuropsychological damage can also be the result. The latter can manifest themselves in a variety of psychological deficits, such as a change of character or depression.
Patients who have had a long period of lying down and being ventilated during intensive care treatment may also suffer consequential damage. These are impairments of the lungs and the musculoskeletal system.
