Duration of an HCG diet

The pure diet phase follows two loading days and lasts at least 21 days. According to Anne Hild, more than two diet cycles should not be performed, i.e. a maximum of six weeks. This is followed by the stabilization phase of about three weeks.

After that, a break of about six weeks is recommended. If you are very overweight and physically fit, the diet can also be extended. However, it is recommended not to exceed six weeks and to stabilize the achieved weight first.

The stabilization phase

The stabilization phase follows the at least 21-day dietary phase of the metabolic cure. It should be continued for at least three more weeks. The participants should gradually reintegrate originally forbidden foods into the weekly schedule.

Sugar and carbohydrates are still forbidden, however. No more calories are prescribed, but if the intake increases, it should be reduced again. The stabilization phase is intended to get the body used to a normal diet again and to stabilize the previously achieved weight.

During the stabilization phase no globules or drops are taken. Here too, one should again carefully ensure a sufficient supply of nutrients in order to supply the body with all the essential building blocks. The goal of the stabilization phase is to observe and maintain your weight, not to continue losing weight.Between the diet phases, which according to the recommendation should not exceed six weeks, a six-week break should be observed. In the meantime, of course, care must be taken not to consume more energy than the body consumes. This would endanger the success of the diet and inevitably lead to renewed weight gain.

Which HCG diet products are available?

Many suppliers offer hCG starter sets containing different preparations. These include tablets, globules, drops and other dosage forms. These are dietary supplements like vitamins, minerals, omega-3 fatty acids, natural laxatives like psyllium husks and many other products.

The starter kits for the first weeks of the hCG diet can cost up to 200€, often products have to be bought later. All these supplements are intended to prevent the side effects of the calorie-reduced diet and provide the body with sufficient essential nutrients. In addition, there are numerous cookbooks, diet guides, paid apps or consulting portals that support the participants in the implementation of the diet.
