Medical history (history of illness) represents an important component in the diagnosis of psoriatic arthritis.
Family history
- Is there a frequent history of skin disease in your family?
- Are there frequent diseases of bones/joints in your family?
Social history
- Is there any evidence of psychosocial stress or strain due to your family situation?
Current medical history/systemic history (somatic and psychological complaints).
- Distribution of skin lesions (extensor sides of extremities, knees, skin folds, scalp, sacral region (sacral region), anal region)?
- Do you have nail changes?
- Do you have increased joint pain and/or joint swelling in fingers and/or toes?
- Do you have pain in the tendons?
- Have the complaints occurred unilaterally or symmetrically?
- Are the movements of the affected joints restricted?
- Have you noticed morning stiffness of the affected joints?
- Have you noticed any lump formation in the area of the affected joints?
- Do you suffer from deep-seated back pain?
- Do you suffer from dry eyes and / or mucous membranes?
Vegetative anamnesis incl. nutritional anamnesis.
- Do you smoke? If yes, how many cigarettes, cigars or pipes per day?
- Do you drink alcohol? If yes, what drink(s) and how many glasses per day?
