Allergic stains | Red spots on the glans – How dangerous is that?

Allergic stains

Some unaccustomed care products such as shower gels or lotions can also cause reddish spots on the glans. This is a classic contact dermatitis, which can also occur on any other part of the body. If intimate care products such as shower gels or lotions are used and reddish spots on the glans are then caused, the cause is usually allergic.

The only and often most successful treatment measure is to change the washing lotion. Oils such as Bepanthen® Wound and Healing Ointment can be used to support this process. Also, an allergy, which is noticeable in the form of red spots on the glans, can be triggered by a certain fabric of the underwear. To be on the safe side, you should change the underwear materials used as well as the skin care products.

Penis cancer

Penis cancer is a very rare disease, so it should only be considered when everything else has been ruled out. Penis cancer also causes skin changes that appear in the form of hardening, swelling or even nodules. The skin abnormalities sometimes manifest themselves as slightly bleeding and red erosions that heal poorly or not at all.

In most cases, the glans or foreskin is affected by penis cancer. One of the possible side effects, which usually only occur in the advanced stage of the disease, is an outflow from the urethra. This can be noticed by a bad smell or appear bloody and tinged with blood.

Red spots on the glans as an indication of HIV

Red spots on the glans almost never indicate HIV infection. HIV infections proceed in large parts completely without symptoms. The diagnosis is usually made routinely by a blood test at the request of the patient.

The first symptoms of HIV infection can be fatigue, frequent infections and weight loss. Advanced HIV infection can also cause skin lesions on the entire body. In this context, reddish skin lesions on the glans can also occur, but these rarely occur individually. In most cases, further reddish lesions appear on the body. If skin symptoms already appear, it is probably already an advanced HIV infection in the sense of an AIDS disease.
