Bandages are often replaced by tapes. Especially at night, when the joint is not consciously secured and unwanted movements can easily occur, light, soft bandages are used to gently secure the joint. However, care should be taken to ensure that the use of bandages does not lead to excessive restriction of joint function and stability.
