Light products

Food with the designation “light” is not always low in calories! There are no European-wide guidelines for this. Light can therefore mean many things: For such products, always observe and compare the analysis values on the package.

Really calorie-reduced foods can be helpful in losing weight. However, there is always the danger that you eat more of them than of “normal” foods.

  • Less sugar,
  • Less fat
  • Less salt
  • Less alcohol
  • Less carbon dioxide
  • Less caffeine
  • And also fewer calories.

Diet products

Dietary products available on the market are not always suitable for losing weight. These are for example food for diabetics. In these products, the normal sugar is replaced by fruit sugar or sweetener.

Fructose has just as many calories, is only broken down differently in the body. Diet chocolate has the same calorie content as normal chocolate. The same applies to jams and baked goods.

Here too, the only thing that helps is to study and compare the analytical values. Likewise, margarine has by no means fewer calories than butter. Only half-fat margarine or half-fat butter is calorie-reduced. Here fat is replaced by water.
