Introduction
Physiotherapeutic measures are particularly important and effective for human diseases. Unfortunately, there are certain guidelines and limitations for the prescription of a physiotherapy concept. The costs and guidelines are discussed below.
Important for the prescription of a physical therapy concept is the catalog of remedies. This provides information about the diagnoses and the amount of intervention that can be prescribed. It depends on the indication key, which gives information about the body part and type of disease.
For each new diagnosis the patient is entitled to a total of 18 therapy units, i.e. 3 prescriptions of 6 treatments each. Depending on the symptoms and the success of the therapy, the doctor decides whether to prescribe further therapy. In the case of serious illnesses, the doctor will request treatment outside of the normal range of treatment and this must be approved by the respective health insurance company. Prescriptions for private patients do not have to adhere to the guidelines of the catalog of remedies. In general, the treatments are divided into the following sub-areas: massage, manual lymphatic drainage, movement therapy, physiotherapy, traction treatment, electrotherapy, inhalation therapy, heat therapy, cold therapy, services outside of the norm and other services.
