How long a patient with a shoulder TEP is on sick leave depends on the individual healing process and the working conditions.After 3-4 months the shoulder should be fully usable again in everyday life, after this period it is also possible to work at the desk in an office job again. If the work requires a higher physical strain and loads of more than 5 kg have to be lifted regularly, a longer sick leave of approximately half a year is necessary. It may be necessary for the employer to adjust the working conditions accordingly. Normally, the reintegration into work takes place gradually, initially the person concerned works for 2-4 hours a day until full working hours are reached again.
