Risks and costs | Wrinkle treatment with hyaluronic acid

Risks and costs

Compared to surgical facelifting, there are hardly any significant risks associated with wrinkle treatment with hyaluronic acid. Patients with very sensitive skin may experience redness and/or inflammation in the area of the puncture marks following the application. In addition, small blisters can form in the treated areas of the face, but these heal very quickly and do not leave any permanent damage.

Some patients complain about the appearance of swelling in the treated facial areas in the first days after wrinkle treatment with hyaluronic acid. However, the development of these swellings can be reduced by careful, intensive cooling. The formation of bruises in the areas where wrinkle treatment with hyaluronic acid has been performed cannot be excluded.

The costs of wrinkle treatment with hyaluronic acid depend on the extent of the necessary measures on the one hand and on the desired final result on the other hand. Even minor losses of elasticity and sagging (i.e. small wrinkles) can be corrected at comparatively low prices. Since wrinkle correction is a plastic, aesthetic treatment, the procedure is not covered by either statutory or private health insurance. In German clinics, the costs for wrinkle treatment with hyaluronic acid are between 200 and 1000 Euros.
