Coccyx pain is relatively common during pregnancy and can have various causes. With exercises to strengthen the muscles surrounding the pelvis and to relax the back, relief can often already be achieved.
Careful application of heat and supporting pelvic girdle can also help with coccyx pain during pregnancy. Pain during pregnancy and labour can also begin with coccyx pain, but the intensity, regularity and timing of the contractions are crucial in distinguishing between the two.
