Duration and prognosis
It cannot be predicted exactly how long the symptoms of a mosquito bite will last. In general, however, it should not last longer than one week and the symptoms should not become worse. If after 10 days there is still a minimal reddening and itching, the course of the bite can be waited for, as experience shows that the typical symptoms decrease from day to day as long as the bite is not manipulated by scratching. However, an increase in the symptoms indicates a pathological course which should be clarified by a physician.
