Effect | Vagisan®

Effect

Lactic acid-containing Vagisan® products therefore aim at normalizing the vaginal pH-milieu by the direct addition of lactic acid. Their application is useful when the vaginal flora is still intact. The use of lactic acid bacterial suppositories is however recommended if the Döderlein flora is already permanently damaged.

Application

Before use it should be noted that Vagisan® should not be used in case of known hypersensitivity to lactic acid, sodium lactate or macrogol. Likewise Vagisan® should be used in puberty only after consultation with a physician, since there is not yet sufficient experience with this age group. Using Vagisan® on girls before puberty is not recommended because the vaginal flora has not yet fully developed at this time.

There are no concerns when used during pregnancy or lactation. The application should be carried out as described in the instructions for use. In general, one suppository should be used daily for 5 – 7 days.In the evening, the vaginal suppository is inserted as deeply as possible into the vagina with the cleaned finger.

If the vagina is dry, the suppository can be moistened with water beforehand. It is recommended to use panty liners during the period of use, since occasionally a stronger, but harmless, discharge may occur. Side effects in the form of weak skin reactions (itching, burning, reddening of the skin) occur rarely, but should be clarified by a doctor as soon as possible.

Moisturizing cream

Vagisan® moisturizing cream is mainly used for vaginal dryness. It is available without prescription and has a moisturizing effect. Vagisan® is also advertised with its moisturizing effect, which is based on the lipids (fats) it contains. The moisturizing cream contains neither fragrances, dyes nor preservatives.

Vagisan® moisturizing cream Cremolum

Vagisan® Feucht Creme Cremolum is a vaginal suppository against vaginal dryness. Especially women in the menopause experience vaginal dryness due to hormonal changes. Vagisan® moist cream is available to combat this.

It provides moisture and at the same time has a greasing component. It is hormone-free. Vagisan® moist cream is applied with an applicator into the depth of the vagina.

For women who are uncomfortable with the application of such an applicator there is Vagisan® moist cream Cremolum. These are vaginal capsules that can be inserted into the vagina without an applicator. The application can be done daily or only 2-3 times a week.

A vaginal suppository should be inserted into the vagina before going to bed. Application during pregnancy and lactation is possible. 16 pieces of Vagisan® moist cream Cremolum cost just under 12 Euro.

The daily therapy costs thus amount to about 70 cents. The preparation is not subject to prescription, so it can be purchased without prescription. However, if a cash prescription is submitted, the costs are reduced to 5 Euro per prescription.
