Home remedies for headaches can of course also be used during pregnancy as long as they do not harm the child. The use of medication should always be discussed with the doctor. Massages, heat and teas, certain exercises or other individual measures against headaches can be used.

If you are unsure whether the household remedy is safe for your child, it is better to make an agreement once too often than once too little. Many pregnant women find it helpful to divide their food intake into several small meals instead of a few large meals, or to change their sleeping habits. A headache diary can help to identify the cause of the headache and, if possible, work on it.

Paracetamol

As a general rule, during pregnancy, medication should only be taken after consultation with the treating physician. If the pain is severe, taking painkillers can bring relief. Aspirin or ibuprofen are commonly used painkillers, but they should only be used with caution and if only in the first weeks of pregnancy. Paracetamol, on the other hand, can be used occasionally throughout pregnancy. Consultation with the doctor should be made anyway!
