While grades 1, 2 and 3 describe haemorrhoids that are rather harmless and can be moved with a finger, for example, the fourth grade leads to the formation of complex haemorrhoids. These are usually quite large and cannot be pushed back by the finger.
This often leads to severe pain. Such hemorrhoids have a certain risk of bursting under strong pressure. This leads to bleeding, which usually stops of its own accord within a few minutes.
If this is not the case, a doctor should be consulted as soon as possible, otherwise blood loss or infection may occur. However, these complications are extremely rare. The bursting of hemorrhoids is promoted by increased pressure in the intestine. This can occur, for example, in cases of constipation, heavy pressing during toilet visits or during pregnancy.
