Interactions

When Ofloxacin is applied externally in the form of eye drops or eye ointment, there are no interactions with other drugs. Interactions may occur if Ofloxacin is taken in tablet form.

Contraindications

There is only one contraindication for the use of the eye drops: if hypersensitivity to the active substance or the other ingredients is already known, the eye drop eye ointment should not be used. Other contraindications exist only in the case of systemic use of Ofloxacin as a tablet.

Dosage

Before applying drops or ointment to the eye, hands should be washed to prevent dirt from getting into the eye. To drop the eyes, the head should be tilted back slightly. The bottle is taken in one hand, with the other hand the lower eyelid is pulled down slightly.

Thereby you should look upwards. The bottle should be held as close as possible over the eye, but without touching it. Now a drop is placed in the conjunctival sac which is pulled down.

Afterwards you can blink a few times to spread the drop better. It can also help to close the eyes completely for a few seconds afterwards. Even the application of eye ointment is not always easy for the untrained patient.

Again, it is important to wash your hands before use. Also with eye ointment, the tube should not touch the eye. To apply the ointment, the lower eyelid should be pulled down a little.

The ointment strip should now be placed in the conjunctival sac. So in the area of the inner eyelid pulled down. The strip should be about 1 cm for Floxal.

It is best to apply it starting at the nose and then pull it towards the outside of the eye. After applying the ointment, the eyes should be closed for about one minute to ensure the distribution of the ointment over the entire eye. The excess ointment can be wiped away with a absorbent cotton pad, for example.
