Older patients also belong to the group of people for whom treatment with Hoggar® Night should only be carried out under strict indication. It offers a good alternative to other drugs if these have not shown any efficacy.

Nevertheless, as with many drugs, side effects can occur more frequently in older people. Due to the sedative effect, there is also an increased risk of falling. Pregnant patients should consult their doctor before taking the drug.

Taking it while breastfeeding should also be discussed with the doctor. It is often not recommended and a different sleeping pill is used because the ingredients of Hoggar® Night are transferred into breast milk. The use of the medicine should not correlate with the consumption of alcohol. In addition, it affects the ability to react, so it is not advisable to drive after taking a tablet. The operation of electrical devices, machines and other vehicles should also be avoided in order not to endanger the health of oneself and other persons.

Application period

One tablet of Hoggar® Night contains 25mg doxylamine succinate. The tablet should be taken according to the instructions of the treating physician. Further information is also available at the pharmacy.It is recommended to take one tablet in the evening about 1 to 1.5 hours before bedtime with a glass of water.

In case of very severe insomnia the dose can be increased to two tablets. This is the maximum dosage and should not be exceeded. The timing of the intake should be such that the patient has sufficient sleep time after the administration.

Then the medication best ensures a restful and continuous sleep. The tablet can be used for both acute and chronic sleep disorders. In the treatment of chronic sleep disorder the dose may be reduced after a longer period of use. This can be used to check whether further use is necessary or whether the patient has developed physiological sleep hygiene again.
