Therapy | Pain in the ovary during pregnancy

Therapy

Treatment for ovarian pain during pregnancy is often very limited because most medications have not been tested on pregnant patients and therefore the effects on pregnancy are unknown. The most important thing is that the patient does not panic but tries to distract herself with simple work or other things. Pleasantly hot sitz baths or warming compresses can also help. If an ectopic or ectopic pregnancy is present, it must be removed by surgery because the probability of survival for the unborn child is virtually impossible and such pregnancies also pose an enormous risk to the patient. Cysts must also usually be removed by surgery, although small cysts can also regress spontaneously.

Prognosis

Most pain in the fallopian tube during pregnancy is unproblematic and disappears on its own within a few weeks. It is therefore important that the patient remains calm. However, if the pain gets worse or lasts for a long time, a gynecologist should be consulted as ectopic pregnancies can also be dangerous for the woman. In general, however, most ectopic pregnancies regress on their own and only in very rare cases does the fallopian tube rupture.
