What is a calculus eraser?

A tartar eraser can be used to remove easily detachable tartar and slight tooth discoloration. It consists of a rubber-like substance, which is covered with specific crystals. Thus the tartar eraser has a slightly abrasive effect. As with all methods of tartar removal, injuries to the gums should be avoided to prevent the occurrence of inflammation.

What is a tartar scratch?

The calculus scraper (tartar scaler) is an instrument that is characterized by two differently shaped, hook-shaped sides. It is also used by dentists to remove tartar from the interdental spaces and the gum line (the part of the gum that lies directly against the tooth).
