What does a Paleo dinner look like?

Like lunch, dinner can be varied and healthy. There are numerous tasty recipes, which contain a lot of valuable vitamins and minerals. To lose weight in a targeted manner, light recipes are available, such as a fresh grapefruit-avocado salad or an exotic fish-coconut curry. Spicy braised onions with poultry liver, leg of lamb from the oven or homemade sweet potato fries can be eaten just as well as dinner.

Side effects of the Paleo diet

For many people, doing without cereals and switching to fat metabolism means that the body needs a certain amount of time to get used to it. At the beginning of the diet one often feels flabby and tired. It can take a few weeks before the metabolism changes.Depending on how the permitted foods are used and combined, digestive problems may occur at the beginning of the dietary change.

If you have been eating a diet rich in vegetables lately, the body is supplied with a lot of dietary fiber, which can cause a feeling of fullness and flatulence. If a lot of meat is eaten, this can lead to constipation. After the acclimatization period, digestive problems usually subside, provided the diet is balanced.

Criticism of the Paleo Diet

There are numerous scientists and modern doctors who consider the basis of the Paleo diet to be nonsense, as our genes would have developed over thousands of years. The scientist Jonathan Pritchard of the “Department of Genetics and Biology” of the renowned Stanford University proved already 2006 that approximately 700 gene regions of humans have changed during the last 5,000 to 15,000 years. Evolutionary biologists also criticize that the fruits and vegetables we eat today are not comparable to those of 10,000 years ago.

The scientific background of the Paleo Diet has been widely criticized. Nevertheless, the renunciation of processed foods and industrial sugar seems to be fundamentally healthy. Many critics also criticize the high consumption of meat in the Paleo-Diet, which means a high protein intake for the body. It should therefore be paid attention to a balanced diet.
