Costs

The cost of a pregnancy gym course can vary significantly from city to city. In addition, the cost of the exercise units depends on the form of pregnancy gymnastics. Traditional pregnancy gymnastics is usually performed in several individual lessons over a period of approximately five to six weeks.

Costs of between 50 and 90 euros per course can be expected. However, the costs for the pregnancy gymnastics are not always covered by the statutory health insurance companies. Private insurance companies are also not forced to cover the costs of pregnancy gymnastics.

In many cases, the expectant mothers have to pay for all costs themselves. Some of the public health insurances have agreed to cover the costs of the pregnancy gymnastics completely. Other statutory insurance companies cover at least a portion of the total costs.

Privately-insured expectant mothers should discuss any possible coverage with the insurance company before beginning the pregnancy exercises. In some cases, private insurance companies grant at least a portion of the course fees as a gesture of goodwill. In addition, the costs of a birth preparation course with integrated pregnancy gymnastics are always covered by the statutory health insurance companies.

It is completely irrelevant whether it is a pure birth preparation course for expectant mothers or a so-called partner course. However, with the common partner courses it must be noted that the statutory health insurance companies only cover the costs of the expectant mother. The costs for the partner, on the other hand, must be paid independently.

These are usually between fifty and one hundred and fifty euros. For privately insured women, it should be remembered that the assumption of costs for the birth preparation course with integrated pregnancy gymnastics must be discussed with the respective insurance carrier before the course begins. Not every private health insurance company is willing to cover the entire costs of the course. As a rule, however, even with privately insured persons, at least a large part of the costs incurred is covered.
